ABM has recently collaborated with La Trobe University in producing a research paper, “Working towards Transformational Development and the Sustainable Development Goals”. This paper explores the concept of ‘transformation’, as it relates to the ambitious development objectives launched at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015. These seventeen ‘universal and transformative’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are intended to profoundly improve the lives of those living in poverty, as well as address the challenges of environmental degradation and climate change. You can read more about the SDGs here.
This research paper seeks to define more clearly this idea of transformation, using concrete examples of effective community development projects from ABM, ActionAid, Caritas and Oxfam. ABM contributed research and information specifically relating to the Anglican Church of PNG’s gender work, through the DFAT-funded Church Partnership Program.
