The ABM Board has struck a medal as a means of recognizing the contribution of former missionaries and dedicated staff members of the Anglican Board of Mission.
It has been named the Coaldrake Award, after the Rev’d Canon Frank Coaldrake who served with distinction, first as a missionary and later as Chairman of the Board. [More information about Frank Coaldrake may be found here].
People’s faithful and selfless commitment to promoting the Gospel and growing the Church has laid the foundation for the missional partnerships that continue to underpin all of ABM’s work today.
On Thursday 1st June, 2017, following the Associates Annual General Meeting, the Rt Rev Garry Weatherill, Chair of the ABM Board, presented the Coaldrake Award for the first time to two very deserving recipients, Mrs Moya Holle and the Rev Eric Hampson. Both served as missionaries and have been tireless supporters of ABM over many decades.
We also welcomed Roxanne Roberts from Anglicare PNG who was visiting Australia as ABM’s Guest Speaker at the annual One World WonTok Poverty and Development Youth Conference. She gave a presentation with examples of her work in raising awareness of health and gender related issues aimed at PNG youth.
If you are interested in nominating someone for the Coaldrake Award, the protocols for nominating and the nomination form can be found here: www.abmission.org/Coaldrake.
