Board and Supporters Dinner 2015

Guest Speaker

The Reverend Glenn LoughreyThe Reverend Glenn Loughrey

Glenn has spent most of his working life involved in ministry, first through the Salvation Army, then Everyman’s Welfare Service and finally in the Anglican Church.

The focus of his ministry has been working with the poor and marginalised, be that young people living rough in Brisbane, as Salvation Army chaplain to Bathurst maximum security prisoners, supporting young sailors in the Royal Australian Navy and as a chaplain to school children.

As a result of having an indigenous grandmother and having experienced racism for himself in his own country, he has a specific interest in reconciliation and the role people such as himself have in the ongoing dialogue for respect and equality.

As an artist he produces work that explores the indigenous communion with country and the spirituality of place.

He have written several articles for international journals on exile as the place where change begins and on its importance to the reconciliation process.

Glenn is married to Gaye and they have one daughter, Katrina who lives and runs her own international business from Berlin.
