New Archbishop enthroned for Church of Melanesia

April 18, 2016

ABM’s Programs Director Dr Julianne Stewart attended the enthronement of the Most Revd George Takeli as the new Primate of the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM) on Sunday 17th April, 2016. She shares with us some images from this special event:

“ABM’s Revd John Deane and Newcastle Bishop Greg Thompson were among the guests at today’s enthronement of the new Anglican Church of Melanesia’s Archbishop, the Most Revd George Takeli, formerly Bishop of Temotu. As part of the day’s events, the new Archbishop, his wife, and guests were entertained by traditional dancers. A very large crowd of people were there to celebrate with ACOM at this happy event. ABM congratulates Archbishop George.”
