Survey for Sustainable Development – add your voice

September 14, 2017

A network of Anglican partners, including Anglican Alliance, Anglican Board of Mission (Australia), United Society Partners in the Gospel (USPG), Episcopal Relief & Development, Mothers Union, and the Primates World Relief and Development Fund, have developed a survey to help articulate the importance of faith-based organisations in the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as the next development agenda following the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).  It has now been widely accepted that engagement with faith leaders and communities is essential if we are to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals

To help encourage the involvement of faith leaders and communities around the world, the United Nations commissioned the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development (PaRD), which brings together governmental (e.g. USAID and DFID) and intergovernmental organisations (e.g. United Nations and the World Bank) with religious and value-driven organisations to harness the positive impact of religion and values in sustainable development and humanitarian assistance.

We feel that PaRD participation is a key way in which we can help ensure that voices from the Anglican Communion are represented and able to influence the international agenda.

Currently USPG and Episcopal Relief & Development are partners of PaRD, and wish to be representative of the incredible wealth of knowledge and expertise available within the wider Anglican Communion – including you. For this reason, they have been in conversation with ABM and the other agencies mentioned and have decided that the best way to get Communion wide opinions is through a survey.

We would be extremely grateful if you would complete the survey so that the Anglican collective are fully informed, and can be representative during the next PaRD meeting in November 2017. Please note that this survey is for a broad audience, so not all questions may be applicable to everyone. You are only asked to answer those which you feel relate to your experience.

Please click here to complete the survey.

We kindly ask that you respond no later than the 30th of September.
