20TH MARCH 2015 UPDATE -Vanuatu Cyclone Emergency Response

ABM this morning heard news that our much loved Vanuatu Program Coordinator, Jessica Sexton, is safe and arrived at Port Villa on a Red Cross plane last night.  All staff and supporters will be relieved and we thank God for this result.

Julianne Stewart, ABM’s Program Director said, “We are all delighted with this outcome, and to know that Jess is safe and well and in good spirits.

“Jess, who had been stranded in Sola in northern Vanuatu for a week after the recent Cyclone Pam, arrived safely in Port Vila last night on a Red Cross evacuation flight, and is currently on an Air Vanuatu flight home to Sydney.

“We continue to pray for the very difficult situation facing Vanuatu right now as it works hard to respond to the debilitating affects of the cyclone

“We expect that as communication links re-open (hopefully in next few days) the relief and recovery efforts will be made a bit easier, and we will hopefully be able to be in contact with our ACOM friends in Luganville and other places.”

We will continue to update this page as information comes in from our partner in Vanuatu, the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM).
