View of Jerusalem |
In Palestine, ABM works with the Diocese of Jerusalem, which is one of four dioceses of the Episcopal/Anglican Church in the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East.
The Diocese of Jerusalem also covers Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Israel with a total of almost thirty parishes.
The church is very active in its ministry and supports various institutions including hospitals, clinics, kindergartens and schools with the aim to provide better healthcare and education to local communities. It also works to build up interfaith dialogue between Christians, Jews and Muslims in these countries.
ABM has supported the diocese for many years, through funded projects, the Good Friday Gift and through an emergency appeal for Syria.

Interview with the Ahli Arab Hospital’s Suhaila Tarazi
ABM is delighted to share with you an interview with Suhaila Tarazi, Director of the Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza. The interview was conducted on 7 July, 2020 by the American Friends of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem (AFEDJ), who, like ABM, are long-time friends and supporters of the hospital.
In this interview, Suhaila discusses the unique challenges of life in Gaza and the work of the hospital during the time of COVID-19. Near the end she touches on her motivation for continuing her work, that “we are one body in Jesus Christ”.
(Suhaila begins speaking at about 5.24 minutes into the video).
