Update for Vanuatu Literacy

In April 2014, ABM staff member Isabel Robinson spent time talking with literacy students and teachers at Chapius Ascension Parish, on the island of Santo in Vanuatu.

The program is funded by ABM and implemented by the Anglican Church of Melanesia (ACOM). Many students said that learning reading, writing and basic mathematics was a pathway into further studies, such as tourism or carpentry.

ACOM also appointed a new Literacy Coordinator, Beverley Rihai, this year.
