Hearing our neighbour’s story

This Lent ABM invites you to get to know your neighbour in mission, to hear their story and recognise that we are connected together by God in mission. ABM’s Lent resources bring together stories of God at work in the world today through members of our worldwide Anglican family.

This year we have produced:

• a special Lent edition of Partners magazine, which includes articles on our Lent theme as well as Bible studies for each week of Lent and one for Easter. The studies have been written by the Revd Professor William Loader, Murdoch University WA. 

• a Lent smartphone App. This year the ABM Lent App is structured around the Anglican Communion’s 5 Marks of Mission and provides a reflection, prayer and listening action for each day of Lent. 

• Intercessions for each week of Lent structured on the Marks of Mission.

• Posters to be used in your parish, including an interactive calendar!

INTERCESSIONS

ABM has written intercessions for each week of Lent. The intercessions follow the regular pattern of prayer in the Anglican Church of Australia (exc. Palm Sunday). We have used the Anglican Communion’s 5 Marks of Mission as the basis for the intercessions. Feel free to adapt them for use in your ministry setting.

ABM’S LENT APP

The ABM “Lent 2015” App provides you with a reflection, prayer and listening action for every day of Lent. Over the 40 days of Lent the App will introduce you to some of ABM’s partners and how they are involved in making God’s love known upon earth. The App explores various facets of what mission is, e.g. reconciliation, building amity, loving your neighbour, embracing kindness, doing justice, and walking a way of peace. During Lent, in prayer and action, you can witness that mission is possible. You can download the Smartphone App in the Apple and Android stores! Find out more
