2011 Pew Reflections – First Quarter (Jan – March)

Revd Gloria ShippWe hope you will be able to use these reflections as a starting point as you read the Scriptures and reflect on them in prayer.

This quarter’s reflections have been written by the Revd Gloria Shipp. In 1996, she became the first Aboriginal woman to be ordained a priest in the Anglican Church. She attended Nungalinya College and her ministry is based around Dubbo in the Diocese of Bathurst.

Gloria is an Honorary Assistant Priest at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Dubbo, and coordinates ‘Walkabout Ministries’, an indigenous outreach program. She is also Chaplain to the Orana Juvenile Justice Centre and runs an annual women’s camp for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women as part of her ministry.

ABM supports the ministry of Gloria through the Diocese of Bathurst, both financially and in prayer.

I hope you find these reflections to be thought provoking and challenging.

God bless,

Melany Markham
