SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and people like you.On September 25th 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.
Do you want to get involved? You can start by telling everyone about them. The United Nations has also put together a list of actions that you can take in your everyday life to contribute to a sustainable future.

CAMPAIGN FOR AUSTRALIAN AID
ABM continually witnesses the transforming effects of Australian Aid in our work with our overseas partners. We believe that a fair contribution to global development is 70 cents from every $100 of Australia’s GDP. At the moment Australia is reducing our overseas aid to less than 30 cents from every $100 of GDP.
That’s why ABM has joined the Campaign for Australian Aid.
Australian Aid is the name we give to the many significant ways that we come together to help communities reduce poverty and build a better and fairer future.
Australia’s foreign aid budget has suffered from successive cuts since 2014, and has lost the bi-partisan support it once held. These have dramatically set back our national contribution to the crucial progress of international development.
Australian Aid makes an incredible difference in the lives of people across our region, and across the world. Now is a critical time for us to stand up for this life-changing work.

MICAH AUSTRALIA
What does the Lord require of us but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God?” Micah 6:8
Micah Australia works with churches, Christian aid organisation and individuals to gather, inspire and empower Australian Christians as advocates, sharing God’s heart for justice and raising a powerful voice with and for people in poor communities around the world.
There are three key advocacy areas that Micah Australia seeks to address: restoration of Australian Aid funding, corporate tax evasion that robs developing countries of vital income, and tanglible action on Climate Change.
Visit their website for resources that you can use in your church and to find out more about the annual Voices for Justice gathering in Canberra.
